Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) update is now available for HTC HD7 & HTC 7 Mozart for Malaysian users. So all Mozart and HD7 users can update your phone through Zune.

The update requires to have few updates before you can get Mango. Do advise to backup the necessary data  before the update

Steps to force a Mango update on phones for which Mango has started rolling out:

  1. Connect your Windows Phone to a PC and launch the Zune software
  2. Click on Phone > Settings > Update. Allow the software to tell you whether an update is available. If so, skip this guide. If not continue to the next step.
  3. Time to force the update. Click another button (any of the options above or below the word Update). Then click the Update button again, and this time disconnect your computer from the internet after 1-2 seconds. Do this by pulling out the Ethernet cable, disabling Wi-Fi, etc. If it says your phone is already up to date, you didn't disconnect quickly enough and need to try this step again.
  4. Wait 30 seconds or so and Zune should display a notification that an update is available. This is 7392, the first Mango pre-update.
  5. Now reconnect to the internet and continue with the update process through the Zune software.
  6. After 7392 is fully installed, you may receive a notification that another update is available. If so, install it now. If not, proceed to the next step.
  7. If the second update isn't popping up on its own, repeat steps 3-5, causing the 7403 update to appear.
  8. Install 7403, brave reader. Speeding right along, isn't it? ;)
  9. Mango time! At this point, Zune should automatically start installing the last update, 7720, aka Mango. If it doesn't happen automatically, force it like we did in previous steps.

New web browsers are now available for most Symbian smartphones and Series 40 mobile phones.

Browser 7.3 is available for all Nokia Symbian touch screen devices.

• Supported Series 60 5th Edition devices include the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, 5530 XpressMusic, N97, N97 Mini.

• This browser will also be pre-installed on Symbian Anna and Bella devices such as the Nokia E6-00, X7-00 and the Oro.

The browser.nokia.com web site provides an example of emerging web design techniques that enable developers to build one site that automatically adapts to different screen sizes and browser capabilities.

Using modern web standards and technologies such as CSS3 media queries, the browser.nokia.com web site detects the screen size of each device (or computer) that accesses the web site.
The site also detects the browser's capabilities and web standards support such as CSS3 and HTML5.
Based on this information, we then deliver the most appropriate design and layout instructions for that device.
To ensure pages load quickly, we also adapt web site graphics to match the screen size. The images are also adapted to ensure they are clear and remain legible at small sizes.
Some of this adaptation happens on the server, before the page even loads. This ensures that small devices don't have to download content, code, or image that are meant for larger devices.

Nokia is launching a global crowdsourcing campaign to find a fresh version of the Nokia Tune. This is the first time Nokia is inviting people to work with the iconic tune with the winning tune to be placed next to the standard Nokia Tune in a selection of the company’s 2012 product portfolio. In this unique crowdsourcing competition Nokia challenges you to create your own Nokia Tune using elements of the popular original.

Details of the contest:

Tunes entered must be a maximum of 30 seconds.

How to enter:
The competition opens on 5th September 2011, after which entrants have 4 weeks to enter their compositions.
