Today at Windows Phone Summit, Microsoft has introduced a new version of their mobile OS, the Windows Phone 8 (codename Apollo)

Windows Phone 8 has the similarity with the Windows 8 that release for PCs and tablets, sharing the common networking, security, media and web browser technology and a common file system. This translate into greater performance with more features and new opportunities for app developers and hardware makers to innovate faster.

Below is a list of some new features introduced on the Windows Phone 8.
  • Multi-core processor support: As reviewers have noted, Windows Phone runs buttery smooth on phones with a single processor. But piggybacking on the Windows core provides support for multiple cores—so we’re ready for whatever hardware makers dream up.
  • Bigger, sharper screens: Windows Phone 8 supports two new screen resolutions—1280x768 and 1280x720, opening the door to amazing new handsets with high-definition 720p displays.
  • More flexible storage: Windows Phone 8 supports removable MicroSD cards, so you can stuff your phone with extra photos, music, and whatever else is important to you, and then easily move it all onto your PC.
  • NFC wireless sharing: If you haven’t heard the term “NFC” yet, I’m betting you soon will. This emerging wireless technology lets phones share things over short distances. In Windows Phone 8, it helps make sharing photos, Office docs, and contact info easier—just tap your phone another NFC-equipped device. How cool is that?
  • Internet Explorer 10: The next version of Windows Phone comes with the same web browsing engine that’s headed for Window 8 PCs and tablets. IE10 is faster and more secure, with advanced anti-phishing features like SmartScreen Filter to block dangerous websites and malware.
  • Wallet: Windows Phone 8’s new digital Wallet feature does two great things. It can keep debit and credit cards, coupons, boarding passes, and other important info right at your fingertips. And when paired with a secure SIM from your carrier, you can also pay for things with a tap of your phone at compatible checkout counters.
  • Better maps and directions: Windows Phone 8 builds in Nokia mapping as part of the platform. Our partnership will provide more detailed maps and turn-by-turn directions in many countries, plus the ability to store maps offline on your phone so you can work with maps without a data connection.
  • Cooler apps and games: Basing Windows Phone 8 on the Windows core will unleash a new wave of amazing apps and especially games, for reasons I’ll touch on in a moment.

Live Tiles are the heart and soul of a Windows Phone. With the new start experience, your Windows Phone is even more personal than ever before

If you guys did follow me on twitter, you might have know that I've just had a preview session of Nokia's new flagship Windows Phone, The Nokia Lumia 900 special thanks to Nokia Malaysia for the invitation.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is already available in locals Nokia Store nationwide with price tag of RM1,799.

Mr. Glen Cha, Head of Operative Product Management brief us about the new Lumia 900.

Basically the Lumia 900 is identical with the current Nokia Lumia 800 with its distinctive, sleek polycarbonate unibody design. Lumia 900 has a larger display of 4.3-inch AMOLED with ClearBlack display, faster internet speed with the supported HSPA+ (other country such as USA would have LTE), a bigger battery capacity of 1,830 mAh and a wide angle HD 1MP f/2.4 front camera.

It has 3 colours for opted, Black, Cyan & White. Black and Cyan has a matte surface whereas the Sporty White is glossy.

The thickness of Lumia 900 and Lumia 800 is about the same or maybe slimmer.

The screen display of Lumia 900 is not flat not like the Lumia 800 / N9 with curve surface. The rear of Lumia 900 placed a 8MP f/2.2 Carl Zeiss optics with dual-LED.

The 1MP front camera is impressive and sharp thanks to it large aperture f/2.4 and wide angle lens Good news for cam-whorer like me. lol!

4.3-inch vs 3.7-inch AMOLED CBD. I found the Lumia 900 has better contrast ratio and lumens compare to Lumia 800 with the same brightness of settings.

On the software wise, it runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Tango) with Internet Sharing/Tethering is enabled, TuneIn Radio (Local Radio Stations), Apps Highlight & Tango Video Call will be preloaded on the device. Of course Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, Contacts Transfer, Network Setup & Lumia Highlights come in as standard.

For a limited time, Nokia DC-16, external battery (2,200mAh) will be bundling along with every purchase of the new Nokia Lumia 900.

Do check them out at the nearest Nokia Store near you and do have a hands-on of the device, you will be impressive.

If you have walked into local Nokia Store you may spotted 2 new Nokia devices, Nokia's 3rd Windows Phone introduced, the Nokia Lumia 900 (successor of Nokia Lumia 800) and Nokia 808 PureView (successor of Nokia N8)

The price of both of these devices finally revealed and it's available starting tomorrow onwards.

The Nokia Lumia 900

The device run on a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 512MB of RAM. Nokia first largest screen smartphone at 4.3-inch AMOLED on Gorilla Corning technology with ClearBlack Display that offers bigger, clearer and vibrant colour display indoor and outdoor.

On the back of the Lumia 900 place a large 8MP Carl Zeiss lens f/2.2, 28mm with dual flash LEDs and support HD video recording.

Not that all, the Lumia 900 has a front-facing camera which Lumia 800 does not have. It comes with 4 colours to choose from, Cyan, Black, Magenta & my favourite White.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is wearing a price tag of RM1,799 only.

The most talk about smartphone by techgeeks and as well photographers, the Nokia 808 PureView.

Nokia 808 PureView has received the Best Mobile Device at Mobile World Congress 2012 and also picked as the Best Imaging Innovation 2012 by TIPA.

What so impressive about this 808 PureView?

It has top-notch Carl Zeiss camera sensor at whooping 41MP. You read it right, it's 41-MEGAPIXEL. It can shoot full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4x lossless zoom. It's like handling a standalone digital camera with impressive quality.

It has a 1.3GHz single-core chip processor, 512MB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with expandable memory with microSD, 4-inch corner-to-corner AMOLED ClearBlack Display Gorilla Corning Glass.

It runs on Symbian Belle OS, how I wish it run on Windows Phone. Maybe a Nokia Windows Phone with 41MP in the making?

The Nokia 808 PureView is priced at RM1,899. You can ditch your digital camera and have this phone as your primary camera.

Both of the new Nokia device is available starting from tomorrow (8th June 2012) onward at Nokia Store nationwide.

Nokia 808 PureView - RM1,899

The most talk about smartphone in Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, the Nokia 808 PureView were spotted in local Nokia store without price tag, just a "Coming Soon"

Nokia Lumia 900 and Lumia 610 are also available in Nokia store for hands-on but yet can be purchase. It seem that Nokia now would like to showcases their latest smartphone in advance on their store before make available in the market.

No price or date indication, my personal estimation would be around RM1,800.

How much would you pay for a 41MP camera smartphone that you could replace your standalone camera?

So the Gorilla Corning Glass 2 is protective enough?
