7th of December marked its first official appearance the Nokia's first Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia series landed in Singapore.
There was a keynote session took place at TheatreWorks before the official public launch held at the popular nightspot, Clarke Quay Read Bridge.
The keynote was kicked off by Mr. Niklas Savaner, Excutive Vice President, Markets, Nokia and unveiled the Nokia Lumia series. Nokia Lumia 800 & Nokia Lumia 710.
"Let's talk about the significance of the Nokia Lumia devices to us from a strategy perspective, we are delivering our first Nokia Windows Phones within eight months since we announced the collaboration with Microsoft earlier this year. And we have introduced Nokia's signature services which make these phone much more desirable and relevant to consumers. This is a significant step forward as we continue to drive innovation throughout our entire portfolio, and the new range of Nokia Lumia smartphones is a testimony to our capabilities in balancing technology innovation with optimal user experience" said Mr. Niklas Savander.
Ms. Tracey Fellows, Area Vice President, Microsoft Asia Pacific shared the features and new user experience on the new Windows Phone Operating System.
Combining familiar Nokia element such as leading imaging capabilities, navigation and music, The Nokia Lumia delivers the best Windows Phone experience on the market.
Product demonstration was carried out by Mr. Andrej Sonkin, Head of Smart Devices Southeast Asia Pacific of the design, hardwares and user interfaces of the new Nokia Lumia series.

Nokia Lumia 800
The stunningly social Nokia Lumia 800 features head-turning design, vivid colours (cyan, magenta and black) and the best social and Internet performance, with one-touch social network access, easy grouping of contacts, integrated communication threads and Internet Explorer 9. It features a 3.7-inch AMOLED ClearBlack curved display blending seamlessly into the reduced body design, and a 1.4 GHz processor with hardware acceleration and a graphic processor. The Nokia Lumia 800 contains an instant-share camera experience based on leading Carl Zeiss optics, HD video playback, 16GB of internal user memory and 25GB of free SkyDrive storage for storing images and music.
Nokia Lumia 710
The purposely built, no-nonsense Nokia Lumia 710 can be personalized with exchangeable back covers and thousands of apps to bring the Lumia experience to more people around the world. The Nokia Lumia 710 is designed for instant social & image sharing, and the best browsing experience with IE9. It is available in black and white with black, white, cyan, fuchsia and yellow back covers. With the same 1.4GHz processor, hardware acceleration and graphics processor as the Nokia Lumia 800, the Nokia Lumia 710 delivers high performance at an affordable price.
Both Nokia Lumia smartphones are included the signature Nokia experience optimized for Windows Phone, including Nokia Drive, a full-fledged personal navigation with free, turn-by-turn navigation that will be only be available to Nokia Lumia users to differentiation over non-Nokia Windows Phone products as a pre-loaded application.
There is also Nokia Music, the service developed first for the Nokia N9 and now optimised for Windows Phone.
Also announced are accessories to go with the new range such as the on-ear Nokia Purity HD stereo headset by Monster and the in-ear Nokia Purity Stereo Headset by Monster, a new Bluetooth headset that comes in complemeting colours and some others.
After the keynote, we are leaded to the Experience Corner to have hands-on of the devices.
Microsoft XBOX 360 with Kinectic were demo-ed with XBOX Live Hub that available on the Nokia Lumis offers cool games, capability to see friends' presence and leaderboards, 3D Avatar control and creation.
After that we had a bumboat ride down the Singapore river to reach Clarke Quay Read Bridge where the consumer launch party held.
To celebrate the occasion, Nokia Singapore offers the Nokia Lumia 800 (SGD $775) with FREE XBOX 360 with Kinect to the first 100 customers at the launch party and as well invited to the exclusive unveiling of the Nokia Lumia 800 with thrilling live performances by the Nokia Style and Entertainment challenge and a brightly-lit stacked cubes to look like a giant Nokia Lumia phone.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is priced at SGD $775 (around RM1,830) and the Nokia Lumia 710 is priced at SGD $505 (around RM1,260). The Lumia 800 will be on sale by this coming Saturday, 10th December together with the telco's package offers. The Nokia Lumia 710 will made available in the following week.
There is no news or actual date of the availability for Malaysia, only an official estimation somewhere in the first quarter of 2012 by Nokia.
