Nokia Betalabs has just released an apps, Ovi Contacts. What is Ovi Contacts all about?

Ovi Contacts is identically same with Nokia Chat where you can let you friends know where are you and what are you doing. Beside that you may also able to check your friend's status messages to see what your friends are up to. Ovi Contacts is all about keeping in touch with people who matter.

It does sound like the renowned micro-blog Twitter but Ovi Contacts has more features where Ovi Contacts are capable to let your friends know if you are available, busy or on the phone. You may also able to check your friends' availability.

Beside that you also can share - or hide - your favourite places with your friends. Not only that you also can let your friends know what you are listening like MSN (status info).

Ovi Contacts allow you to chat with your friends, send voice messages to your chat partners and indicate your availability to your friends. Not only that you can also show information about your location to your contacts.

Ovi Contacts does support Nokia phones with Symbian S60 3rd (non FE, FE1 & FE2), S60 5th, S40 and Maemo platform. This app can be downloaded HERE.

To get started with Ovi Contacts service, you need to have an Ovi Account, if you doesn't have one, you can register yourself one at Ovi.com for free. Sign in with your Ovi Account and you can search a friend among registered Ovi members in the Search Friends Field.

Ovi Contacts does support PC remote clients with Psi, Adium and Pidgin like Twitter has in Tweetdeck and Destroy Twitter.
Configuration of the PC remote clients can be found HERE.

Feel free to have a try and you can write your feedback here or directly to Nokia Betalabs of this application.

p/s you can add me in the contact with the ovi account name "tallboyz"
