Microsoft Reveals Theirs Own Tablets - Tab & Ultrabook Killer?

Today Microsoft has revealed a series of tablet devices powered by Windows 8 - Surface.

Was expecting it from Nokia to release these tablets since Microsoft & Nokia partnership on mobile devices.

There are two options of Microsoft Surface; Microsoft Surface for Windows RT which targeted for consumers and Microsoft Surface for Windows 8 Pro which are targeted for business profession.

Both of the Microsoft Surface come with 10.6-inch display which are physically identical aside the different of thickness and weight.

Microsoft Surface for Windows RT

• Thickness: 9.3 millimeters
• Display: 10.6-inch ClearType HD capactive touchpanel
• Battery: 31.5Wh

• Battery: 42Wh
• I/O: microSDXC, USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort, 2×2 MIMO antennae
• Software: Windows 8 Pro
• Accessories: Touch Cover, Type Cover, VaporMg Case & Stand, Pen with Palm Block
• Capacity: 64GB / 128GB

Availability: “Three months after” the Windows 8 launch this fall

Microsoft developed two covers for the Surface tablets which is touch-typing Surface Touch Cover which an integrates of a multitouch keyboard and trackpad. The cover itself only add 3mm to the devices's thickness and will be attached to the tablet with a magnetic connector similar to Apple's smart cover. It's a pressure-sensitive technology which sense keystrokes as input.

The other one is also a Type Cover but with more conventional tactile keyboard with touch pad.

It comes with five eye-catching colours which are Cyan, Red, Magenta, Black and White. These colours does look similarity to the Nokia Lumia smartphone devices.
