Size
The existing of “netbook “in the market is to have a internet mobile computer as handy as possible.
Nokia N900 in a dimension of 110.9 x 59.8 x 18 mm with weight of 181g has almost all of the features and criteria of a netbook.

Voice Call
There is no voice call supported in any netbook in the market yet. It would only have HSPA in-built for mobile internet data.
Nokia N900 supported GSM 850/900/1800/1900 & HSDPA 900/1700/2100, allow it to make voice call as well as internet data service.

Customisable Hydraulic Desktop Screen
N900 can have up to 4 desktop views that customisable according to your like add-on live widgets like Weather Forecast, Twitter/Facebook Status Update, favourites contacts, to-do-list and more.

Touchscreen Input
Although the screen size of the Nokia N900 is small 3.2” but the touchscreen compensate it all. The kinetic scrolling by flick and gesture swirl of zooming made the interaction easier.

Social Networking has become a quite tool for us to stay connected with friends and even family. Nokia N900 has these features to merge the contacts’ IM status such as Twitter, Facebook MSN, Skype, GTalk, YM and more.

Battery
Nokia N900 has Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery that can last up to 278 hours (2G) / 250 hours (3G) and a normal netbook would only last you 12 to 24 hours of standby.

Camera
Mobility allows stay connected while you move around and sometime you may found something interesting that you wanted to share. Nokia N900 has a 5mp Carl Zeiss Optic for you to capture and share with your frens in photos or maybe videos.

Booting-up Time
In order to save battery you may have to turn off your netbook and turned it on when you need it. The boot-up time sometime is quite frustrated especially *cough* win *cough* dows *cough*
With Nokia N900 you just need to press the lock screen when you no use it and press unlock to use.

Nokia N900 has almost all the criteria of a netbook and does better that it. Could IMD such as Nokia N900 would kill the netbook's market?

Would you be consider to get a Nokia N900 instead of buying a netbook?

I'm a big fan of the Nokia N900 how ever I have my own reason that a netbook cannot be compared to N900.
The convinience of a netbook is far more superior then N900 however n900 is the Almighty in cellphone technology.
1)When it comes to watching movies n900 has to offer limited extension where as you wont get that issue with a netbook
2) Its a 1.6ghz atom vs 600mhz ARM. If you run Linux on a netbook Im guessing its a perfect match.
3) Considering screen customizations, The NETBOOK LINUX REMIX offers the same aswell and better.
Rest all of your reasons are cellphones comparable.
P.S Netbook real match was a NOTEBOOK which in my view Netbooks has already outclassed.

I plan to replace my netbook with an n900 in the next few weeks. Why? Portability. Right now I am forced to carry a large notebook case even though my netbook is so small, because I have to carry the power cable. The three hours of battery life my netbook gets, even under Linux, is atrocious.

Also, I currently have to do a USB tether to my phone for "internet everywhere" on the netbook. I know, I could have purchased a more expensive netbook with 3G built in, but that would have also been an extra data plan and my carrier and phone currently support tethering at no extra charge. With the n900 it's all in one device that is far superior to my current phone.

Finally, as I mostly run Linux on the netbook as-is, and the most taxing thing I do with it is watch TV, I don't see why I can't do that with the Linux-based n900 and be more portable to boot.
